1. What is DiscipleLand's Scope and Sequence?

Since its release in 1999, DiscipleLand has grown into a family of resources that offers three Bible curriculum choices: DiscipleLand Preschool (ages 2-5) encourages young children to discover God and to follow Jesus. DiscipleLand Kindergarten (ages 5&6) introduces kids to Bible heroes that they can respect and emulate. DiscipleLand Core Bible (grades 1-6) establishes a Biblical foundation, preparing children for a lifetime of walking with God and being Jesus' disciples. DiscipleLand Adventure (grades 1-6) equips kids for Christian service, taking them on exciting adventures to locations around the world.

For more specific information regarding DiscipleLand's Scope and Sequence, please click a link below or refer to our free 48-page, full-color Sampler Catalog.

2. What does it mean that DiscipleLand resources are "undated"?

"Undated" resources are available throughout the year. They can be used at any time, not just on a suggested "date" printed on the Teacher Guides. This means you can begin DiscipleLand any time you want, based on your own calendar and needs. It also means that you can save money by reusing Teacher Guides. Of course, DiscipleLand does harmonize with the traditional Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer quarter system, too.

3. What do you mean by "Levels" and "Units"?

A DiscipleLand "unit" is equal to a quarter, or 13 lessons. Future printings of DiscipleLand will replace the word "unit" with "quarter."

DiscipleLand's Core Bible curriculum features six levels that roughly correspond to school grades 1-6. Each "level" offers four quarters, or one year of curriculum.
4. What is the difference between "Core Bible" and "Adventure" resources?

DiscipleLand Core Bible is an age-specific, through-the-Bible experience for grades 1-6. Children progress through six years of targeted learning. DiscipleLand Adventure features topical studies that can be used in a variety of settings with children of different ages.

5. How is DiscipleLand a missions-oriented curriculum?

Jesus told His followers to "make disciples of all nations." Each DiscipleLand product line features world missions in a prominent way. Preschool Bible lessons include many stories about God's work around the world. Core Bible levels offer Hidden People Cards that highlight different "unreached" people groups around the world. Adventure units take kids on special journeys to different locations across the globe.

DiscipleLand has established a partnership with World Concern, a Christian missions organization that provides emergency relief and community development in some of the most neglected areas of the world.
6. How can I find a lesson on a specific topic?

At present, an index to DiscipleLand lessons is not available. The best way to find a specific topic is to review the Scope and Sequence for each resource (see: "What is DiscipleLand's Scope and Sequence?" above).

7. Are there additional resources to go with DiscipleLand?
  • Preschool: We offer puppets, the Jesus Film Flannelgraph, and Seasonal Lessons for Christmas and Easter, plus other resources. View all Preschool resources here.
  • Core Bible: For Levels 1-6, we offer Seasonal Lessons for Christmas and Easter. Level 3: The Jesus Film and The Story of Jesus for Children. Level 4: World Changers video. View all Core Bible resources here.
8. What's the difference between "Core Bible" and "Elementary"?

To better reflect its content, DiscipleLand Elementary was renamed DiscipleLand Core Bible in 2004. DiscipleLand Core Bible, for grades 1-6, establishes a Biblical foundation, preparing children for a lifetime of walking with God and being Jesus' disciples.

9. In what languages are DiscipleLand resources available?

At this time, we do not offer resources in languages other than English.

10. How can I find DiscipleLand Christmas and Easter lessons?

DiscipleLand Christmas and Easter lessons are available at the online DiscipleLand Store throughout the year. Availability of seasonal resources varies by season.

11. Is music available with DiscipleLand resources?

No recorded music is currently available. Core Bible Teacher Guides include printed sheet music. We encourage you to record your own versions of these songs for church use.

12. Is there a proper order to completing the "Adventure" series?

DiscipleLand Adventures can be done in any order you wish--there is no prescribed pattern to follow.

13. How are puppets used?

DiscipleLand Preschool and DiscipleLand Kindergarten Curriculum feature a puppet script for every lesson.  Teacher Guides include contemporary Dee-Cy-Paul stories that are also written as puppet scripts.  Use the puppets with these scripts for the Dee-Cy-Paul story in each lesson.

14. Do you have a book of puppet scripts? Where are the puppet scripts?

Each DiscipleLand Preschool and DiscipleLand Kindergarten Teacher Guides includes 12 puppet scripts--240 puppet scripts altogether!  We do not offer a collected book of puppet scripts.

15. Can a DiscipleLand staff member visit my church to train us or talk to our CE committee?

DiscipleLand's field staff is available to visit churches for teacher training on a limited basis for DiscipleLand orientation training. For further information, please call DiscipleLand Customer Service at 866-343-2475.

16. Does DiscipleLand produce resources for teens or adults?

At this time, we do not offer resources for junior high or senior high.
